What it involved
This website has been a long time coming. I’ve had the intention for a couple of years now, but there was always something else that I had to spend my time on. I’ve worked on it on and off for a few months and have finally reached the stage where I am happy enough to put in the public domain. It’s not finished and probably never will be from a technical point of view.
I’ve created this website for a few reasons :
- To help fellow developers get around problems that I have also encountered and had to get around. There have been many many occasions where I’ve spent hours or days trying to figure out how to get past something, and then stumbled across a blog that gives me the answer. It’s about time that I try to be that blog for someone else!
- To showcase my work
- It’s a great opportunity to learn more about new technologies and techniques
I could have very easily used an open source solution to do this in just a few days. But I like design and coding and it’s what I do for a living, so doing it all from scratch seemed like the only path I could take.
